Wanafunzi wa Shule ya Sekondari Dar es Salaam wakiwa wamevutiwa na kujaa katika Banda la Maboresho ya Mahakama ili kufahamu zaidi kuhusu utekelezaji wa BRN.

Hatimaye majadiliano yaliyokuwa makali yakamalizika kwa furaha huku wanafunzi hawa wakieleza kuikubali BRN na mfumo wake na wakiahidi kuwa mabalozi wa BRN katika shule yao.

President Kikwete to Host first BRN International Review Panel (IRP)

President Jakaya Kikwete who also chairs the Transformation and Delivery Council-the highest body that oversees implementation of the Big Results Now (BRN) Programme, will host the first International Review Panel (IRP) to evaluate the performance of the first year of BRN in Tanzania. The high level Panel of distinguished members is scheduled to be held in Dar es Salaam starting on 15^th -16^th January, 2015.

 

The IRP is one of the key steps in the Big Results Now (BRN) delivery methodology. The IRP is part of BRN culture of self-assessment and review by external peers to improve performance in delivering the set objectives. The IRP is a panel of international experts tasked to provide an independent, external perspective of the methodology, strategic direction and progress of the BRN initiative. 

 

During the meeting in Dar es Salaam, the IRP will be invited to highlight emerging lessons and share insights on best practices from other countries that could help Tanzania to further strengthen the BRN initiatives and accelerate delivery. The panel will critically assess, analyze and comment on progress in the first year of the transformation programme, i.e 2013/14.

 

The Big Results Now! (BRN) Delivery Mechanism was launched in 2013 as a critical enabler towards the achievement of Tanzania Development Vision 2025 (TDV 2025) through the creation of a delivery system focusing on prioritization, coordination and problem solving combined with timely monitoring and evaluation. The BRN which is overseen by the President’s Delivery Bureau (PDB) focuses on priority projects with large economic multiplier effects and deep social impact. The initial sectors are agriculture, water, energy, education, transport and resource mobilization. 

 

At the end of the IRP session, the Panel members will present a report summarizing their feedback to the President and Cabinet Members. They will also interact with media, DPs and members of the civil society.

Independent Review Panel (IRP): BRN Best Practice For Transformational Change In The Way Government Operates

Dar es Salaam, Tuesday, 16 January 2015 –Dar es Salaam, Tuesday, 16 January 2015 – At a public briefing today, the Independent Review Panel (IRP) said the BRN programme represents a key effort in putting in place a best practice system for a transformational change in the way the government operates.  H.E. Festus Mogae, former President of the Republic of Botswana read a statement today, representing the Independent Review Panel after concluding the first year review of the BRN programme.

In reviewing progress in the first year, the IRP noted that the six National Key Results Areas (NKRAs) made commendable progress in the key initiatives outlined in the first year and appreciated the frankness with which some of the weaknesses of the programme were discussed. They also recognized that while the programme has only been in operation for little more than a year, a lot of start-up issues faced should not be allowed to undermine continued implementation. Recommendations were provided by the Panel in addressing these weaknesses.

 

The Panel emphasized that it is critical to sustain the BRN programme and for future Governments to continue its support, in order to realize its full impact. “BRN offers the opportunity over time to bring about fundamental improvements in the development programme in Tanzania,” adds H.E. Mogae.

 

Ministers of the six NKRAs) presented their first year achievements and challenges yesterday, followed by a rigorous question and answer session with the IRP members.

 

In line with BRN’s commitment to transparency, a detailed evaluation report from the Panel will be included in the 2013/14 BRN Annual Report, together with year one results. The BRN Annual Report is expected to be released in February 2015.
